Midfielder to try his luck at McDiarmid Park

David Robertson has revealed that he is to leave Dundee United for St Johnstone over the summer. The midfielder bid a tearful farewell to the Terrors on Sunday after helping them end the 2010/11 campaign with a 2-1 victory over Hearts. Having graduated through the youth system at Tannadice, the 24-year-old admits he will find it a wrench to leave. He is, however, of the opinion that the time is right for a change and is looking forward to the challenges which await him at McDiarmid Park.

Strange

"Although it is very hard to leave Dundee United, I'm really looking forward to next season and I believe it is the right move for me," said Robertson. "I needed a change of scenery and I think St Johnstone can do well next season. "I have been at Dundee United for ten years now, eight of which as a professional, so I'm looking forward to something new. "It will be strange going into a new dressing room but I'm sure I can cope with it and hopefully I can do well from the start of the season."
