Ally McCoist has revealed that administration-hit Rangers will not appeal against the Scottish Premier League's decision to block the signing of Daniel Cousin.
The striker's return to Ibrox was announced the day before the club went into administration, after which the league chiefs refused to allow the move.
McCoist said he understood the decision because it would have been morally wrong for free agent Cousin to join at the same time employees at the club were faced with losing their jobs.
"It wasn't as straight-forward as you would imagine because the deal was just about done for a number of reasons," said the Scotsman.
"The biggest, most important thing here is people's jobs and I totally understand the moral issue involved in signing somebody if other people are losing their jobs.
"It wasn't just as clear-cut as that but we have decided now not to pursue that signing."
