It's the second week of the Scottish Premiership, and with a full round of fixtures on the cards we asked Sky Sports pundit Andy Walker to preview the games.

Saturday 8 August 2015

Dundee vs. Hearts - 3pm KO

Result: Score draw

"I was very impressed with Dundee going to Kilmarnock and scoring four goals. They are a real attacking threat now, much more so than last season. They’ve got Hemmings and Loy up front, supported by Greg Stewart. That’s a real good front three and they’ll be hoping with home advantage they will be able to take care of someone who have just come up from the Championship as title winners. I think Hearts, with their resources, will get into the top-six. But I can see with the start they've had getting a score draw."

Player(s) to watch: Rory Loy

"He’s making his home debut. He got two goals away from home last week against Kilmarnock. I think he’s someone who can make the difference between Dundee being in the top-six or not."

Motherwell vs. Dundee Utd - 3pm KO

Result: Draw

"This is a really intriguing one because Dundee United have a big game on Tuesday which we are doing live on Sky Sports, the Dundee derby. The last thing they want to do is go into that with two defeats. I think we were all surprised to see Motherwell go up to Inverness last week and get all three points against the Scottish Cup holders. I think Dundee United can get off the mark and get a point there."

Player(s) to watch: Mark Durnan and Coll Donaldson.

"They are a new, young centre-back pairing. I thought they acquitted themselves well against a strong Aberdeen side and because of that I think Dundee United will be stronger defensively this year. Although I’m not sure they will score as many goals as they did last time round having lost Ciftci, Mackay-Steven and Armstrong."

Ross County vs. Hamilton Accies - 3pm KO

Result: Ross County win

"It’s going to be a long season for Hamilton. They played with a man advantage for the best part of an hour last week at home to Partick Thistle and still couldn’t get all three points. And having watched Ross County against Celtic I thought they acquitted themselves really well."

Player(s) to watch: Jackson Irvine

"I think in Jackson Irvine they have a player in midfield who is a good bit of business, getting him signed up again for two years. He’s a real driving force and showed that against Celtic."

St Johnstone vs. Inverness CT - 3pm KO

Result: St Johnstone win

"Both sides lost last week so someone will get off the mark here. I think it’s going to be tougher season for Inverness CT. They are Scottish Cup holders but they’ve lost Marley Watkins already on the back of losing Billy McKay. I think they will do well to keep their top-six status. St Johnstone may have lost last week but they did score three goals at Tynecastle which is impressive."

Player to watch: John Sutton

"I expect John Sutton will give St Johnstone a lift and that’s why I think they can get all three points in this one."

Partick Thistle vs. Celtic - 3pm KO

Result: Celtic win

"It’s always a great Glasgow derby. But Celtic are in such terrific form and I think they have the squad to change it around from the European exploits. Obviously Ciftci cannot play so Leigh Griffiths will be the man for Celtic, certainly at the start of the season because he will play. I expect Celtic to win comfortably."

Player(s) to watch: Leigh Griffiths

"I expect Leigh Griffiths to show the type of form that remind Ronny Deila that he’s got some decent strikers on his books."

Aberdeen vs. Kilmarnock - 3pm KO

Result: Aberdeen win

"Aberdeen have a strong squad and I’m hoping they can get through their Europa League tie against Kairat Almaty. If they do they will be on a high. Kilmarnock got humiliated at home so they’ll go there with a defensive mind set but I think Aberdeen have the players who can get all three points at home. I expect the likes of Hayes, McLean, Rooney and Goodwillie to come to the fore for Aberdeen so they get off to a winning start at home."

Player(s) to watch: Jonny Hayes

"He has been terrific in the early part of the season. As well as going forward he does a great job defensively too but he’s also solid going forward and getting balls into the box."
