Motherwell have signed Manchester United U21 captain Liam Grimshaw on loan until January.
The Steelmen sit seventh in the Scottish Premiership with six points from six games and 'Well boss Ian Baraclough has been vocal in his desire to add to his squad before the transfer deadline.
Grimshaw has come through the ranks at Old Trafford and his consistent performances in the centre of midfield for the U21s saw him given the captain's armband.
Motherwell finished eleventh in the Scottish Premiership last season and only managed to stay by beating Rangers in a playoff.
Louis Moult's penalty was enough to give Motherwell their first win since the opening day of the season at home to Kilmarnock last Saturday.
