The 19-year-old is regarded as one of Italy's brightest prospects and his club Torino wanted to let him move elsewhere to gain some first team football.
Quagliarella opted for a loan move to Fiorentina, where he will stay until January when his situation will be reviewed.
"There were bids from three English clubs and they made me offers in the summer," said Quagliarella.
"There were also two really important offers in a matter of fact from Celtic and Rangers of Glasgow, but I had already decided to give preference to Italian clubs and to that the Fiorentina."
Chievo have since registered their interest, who along with Celtic and Rangers could very well come back and make an offer to Torino in the summer.
The Turin club are reportedly willing to sell half the player, although Fiorentina boss Pietro Vierchowod will be hoping to extend his loan spell at the Artemio Franchi.
