Dunfermline were emphatic 4-1 victors at home to Dundee United after a dominant first half display.
A Craig Brewster brace and a Scott Walker strike put The Pars in the driving seat before the interval and Barry Nicholson extended the advantage ten minutes after the break. Jim McIntyre netted a consolation for the visitors.
Motherwell boosted their prospects of climbing off the foot of the table with a stunning 6-1 home mauling of Hearts.
Stephen Pearson, James McFadden twice and Derek Adams thrust Well ahead at the break before Andy Kirk reduced the arrears for Hearts.
Martyn Corrigan restored the host's advantage and Steven Ferguson put the icing on the cake in injury-time.
Dundee were in similarly prolific mood as they crushed Partick Thistle 4-1.
Garry Brady's 38th minute goal broke the deadlock before Juan Sara extended the lead on 51 minutes.
