Rangers bounced back from their loss at Motherwell on Boxing Day with a narrow win at Rugby Park.
The only goal of game for The Gers came from Danish star Peter Lovenkrands who struck just before half time.
Ronald de Boer created the chance and Lovenkrands finished well with his left foot from the edge of the area.
Champions Celtic maintained the pressure on their Glasgow neighbours with a 1-0 win over Dunfermline at Parkhead.
Henrik Larsson was the difference between the two sides as The Pars battled hard, but without much threat.
