Celtic striker Derek Riordan may seek a loan move in January, as he is growing increasingly frustrated at a lack of playing time.Despite having had a more than enviable goal record at Hibernian, prior to his summer switch to the champions, Riordan has cut a forlorn figure thus far at Celtic Park.
The 23-year-old Scotland international has garnered just three minutes of action this season, with his cameo substitute appearance coming against Kilmarnock on the opening day.
Having bagged 60 goals in the previous three seasons at Easter Road, Riordan will unlikely be short of suitors should he elect for a loan switch in January.
"I will have to consider doing something in January if I am not playing," Riordan told the Daily Record.
"I am not the kind of player who likes to sit on the bench.
"It is a frustrating and annoying time for me and not to be playing in Celtic's first team is really bugging me.
"I know I have to be patient and wait for my chance but we are nine games into the season and I have played three minutes.
"I've not been used to this situation. For three years I had regular first-team games with Hibs.
"It is hard to train all week and not even make the bench. It's the worst feeling ever.
"Old Firm games and Champion League matches have come and gone and I haven't featured in them and that really hurts because I signed for a massive club to be part of that."
