Hibernian have confirmed they have received an acceptable offer for midfielder Kevin Thomson.Though the Edinburgh club did not disclose any further details on the offer, Sky Sports News understand that Scottish Premier League rivals Rangers have agreed a £2million deal with Hibs for the 22-year-old.
The Easter Road outfit say 'a number of other inquiries' have been received for the player, and Hibees boss John Collins was satisfied with the discussions for Thomson.
"I have been fully involved in the discussions and I am happy that our valuation has been matched for the player," Collins told the club's official website.
"I am confident that we have a squad that is well capable of competing in the important games that lie ahead and that we can continue the good run of form till the end of the season."
The midfielder has been the subject of a January move away from Hibs, having been in a contract dispute with the club.
English Premiership sides Reading, Middlesbrough and Sheffield United are all thought to have an interest in Thomson, while Charlton Athletic had a £3million bid for Thomson and Hibs team-mate Scott Brown turned down last month.
Celtic have shown an interest in Thomson and Brown, with the players' agent Willie McKay claiming Hibs rejected an offer of £4.25million for the pair last week.
It remains to be seen if Thomson completes a move away from The Hibees before Wednesday's transfer deadline.
One player that is not arriving at Hibs before Wednesday is striker Clayton Donaldson, with current club York City having rejected a £50,000 offer to let the player move to Easter Road immediately.
Donaldson has signed a pre-contract agreement to join Collins's side in the summer.
In other news, Hibs goalkeeper David Grof has extended his contract until 2010, while fellow custodian Andrew McNeil has also signed a contract extension at Easter Road.
