Celtic boss Gordon Strachan has warned Neil Lennon and Artur Boruc to watch their behaviour with fans.The pair have been embroiled in exchanges with their own fans after recent games.
Strachan has called on the players to show a good example to the fans, but he admits the supporters are not blameless.
"Players now need to show the crowd how to behave," Strachan told the Daily Record. "In general players are well behaved and fans think they can shout anything they like.
"There's a never-ending scrutiny and the players need to be aware of that fact."
Meanwhile, Strachan has rejected suggestions that a bust-up with Paul Telfer led to the defender's departure from Parkhead earlier this week.
Telfer left Glasgow on Monday after cancelling his contract by mutual consent.
Strachan insists there was no row between the pair and that the former Coventry man decided to leave for personal reasons.
"The last person I would have an argument with is Paul Telfer," said Strachan. "Paul wanted to leave last summer. He stayed on for me.
"He also wanted to leave in January. He stayed on because Mark Wilson was injured.
"He just couldn't stay any longer. He wanted to be with his family.
"You are really going mental when you are having arguments with people who are not even here."
