Killie never recovered from the shock of going a goal down in the first 60 seconds and a second strike by the Norwegian on the stroke of half-time.
A goal from Garry Hay quarter-of-an-hour from time ensured a tense finish, but The Gers were full value for the three points they so desperately craved.
Despite conceding a late goal, The Gers cruised through the match following Flo`s early strike which came from an incisive Barry Ferguson pass that allowed the former Chelsea man to beat his marker before firing a shot across the keeper and into the far corner.
Killie could have equalised when they were presented with a penalty, but Ally McCoist saw his spot kick saved by Stefan Klos.
Flo`s second came from a smart move down the right that saw Fernando Ricksen send over an excellent cross that presented the Norwegian with a simple chance.
The Gers were prepared to sit back after the break, but were shocked when Hay pulled a goal back.
This prompted Gers boss Dick Advocaat to send on Kennie Miller and he sparked his side into life and was only denied a goal by a smart goal-line clearance from Angus MaCpherson.
Killie never really threatened an equaliser and the Ibrox club cruised home to move nine points clear of third-placed Hibernian.
