The Danish international missed a string of chances for the Scottish champions as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to United at Ibrox.
Lovenkrands was disappointed by the defeat as he felt his side deserved something out of the game.
"I had a lot of chances and I should have put some of them away," said Lovenkrands.
"But it was just not to be. I tried as hard as possible but it just didn't want to go in for me.
"I am very disappointed. I did well to get to the chances - and I didn't expect to get so many against a team like Manchester United - but I just was not lucky enough.
"Sometimes you need a bit of luck and it was not there.
"We are disappointed that we have not got at least one point.
"We created a lot of chances even though we got off to a bad start to the game.
"The quick goal for them really hurt us but I think it would have been more fair if we had got away with one point.
"We had started well but the first attack they had they scored. It was a hard blow.
"But I think the team showed real character and worked for each other. We gave it a good team effort after that but just could not put one away.''
