The champions who have all but conceded the title to rivals Celtic - again failed to take maximum points, despite going ahead.
Australian Craig Moore scored the opener after 55 minutes when he fired home a penalty, after Robbie Neilson had brought down Peter Lovenkrands.
Hearts though levelled with 15 minutes left when Dennis Wyness curled the ball home from the edge of the area to silence the vocal away following.
Bottom-of-the-table Partick Thistle were denied victory at Firhill as Dundee United came from behind to seal a share of the spoils.
David Rowson put Partick ahead with a wonderful 20-yard volley after 65 minutes, but Thistle could not hang on as Barry Robson curled home a brilliant free kick from 30 yards just two minutes later.
Dundee moved into the top half of the table after they drew 1-1 with Aberdeen at Dens Park.
Mark Fotheringham gave the home side the lead after just eight minutes when he curled home a 25-yard free kick.
The Dark Blues, though, could not hang on as Leigh Hinds scrambled home the equaliser on the hour mark.
