Julien Rodriguez has settled in well to life at Scottish champions Rangers.Julien Rodriguez has settled in well with Rangers and says that he is glad he made the switch to Scotland.
The former Monaco skipper left the Principality because he knew he would not be first choice for Didier Deschamps next season.
'The Bison' as he is known, said that he wanted the chance to play more football and is delighted with his move to Rangers.
"During the summer, I saw I would not be in the starting XI in the centre," Rodriguez told L'Equipe.
"I know with injuries and suspensions I would have played anyway, but I didn't want to be satisfied with lower level matches.
"Of course Monaco remains my club, but I had a good opportunity with the offer from Rangers.
"My transfer was settled in a few days, so I didn't want to play with Monaco against Real Betis so I was be able to play in the Champions League with Rangers.
"I don't regret my choice at all, but I want to thank the Monaco officials and Didier Deschamps, who understood my decision, and didn't prevent my departure, even if I left them little time to find a new defender."
