However, in requesting both patience and understanding, McGregor believes it is a nonsense to suggest Rangers are in real trouble at such an early stage of the season.
Ahead of a crucial Uefa Cup clash on Thursday against Molde, McGregor is looking to the future with confidence rather than apprehension.
"It's not a crisis, not in the slightest," he said. "We just need to be consistent, get a win under our belts and take it from there.
"We showed we can play a wee bit in the second half but we need to do that more often.
"Molde is a big game for us now but we know what we need to do.
"It's another European night at Ibrox and we need to put in the performance for the fans who have been brilliant.
"We need to go out and get an early goal and take it from there."
