Rangers and Aberdeen reduced the gap on leaders Celtic to 13 points with home wins over Hibernian and Falkirk respectively.
Paul Le Guen's team were the more impressive performers - The Gers dispatching John Collins's Hibs side by three goals at Ibrox.
The Gers have come in for criticism following a number of below-par performances in the league but were all business here as they claimed a 3-0 lead inside 36 minutes.
Dado Prso got the hosts up and running in the 16th minute before Libor Sionko (32) and Barry Ferguson (36) made the second half a mere formality.
To their credit, the visitors offered stout resistance in the second period and even when they lost Ivan Sproule to a 67th minute dismissal refused to yield a fourth goal.

Darren Mackie (17) and Chris Clark (44) gave the hosts a 2-0 lead at the break. Alan Gow (69) reduced arrears for the visitors but The Dons held out for victory.
Hearts earned a morale-boosting 4-1 win over Motherwell.
Panagiotis Fyssas opened the scoring for The Jambos in the ninth minute, though the lead was short-lived, as Richie Foran (20) equalised.
It remained all square at the break, but Paul Quinn's own goal (55) proved crucial and quickfire strikes from Andrius Velicka (58) and Bruno Aguiar six minutes later embellished the win.
Motherwell's defeat saw Well sink to second from bottom after St Mirren claimed a 1-1 draw at Kilmarnock.
Paul Di Giacomo gave Killie the lead in the 54th minute, but the visitors earned a point through Mark Corcoran's goal 15 minutes from time.
Dundee United's renaissance under manager Craig Levein continued apace following a 3-1 win over Inverness Caley Thistle.
Caley Thistle took the lead at Tannadice through Barry Wilson (15) but Noel Hunt levelled in the 22nd minute and he completed the turnaround five minutes after the hour.
David Robertson scored his team's third goal 12 minutes from time.
