Abderdeen close to within five points of second placed Rangers.
Aberdeen closed to within five points of second placed Rangers after they beat Kilmarnock and the Glasgow giants were held at home by Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
After 15 minutes at Ibrox, Rangers looked well on their way to victory - with Charlie Adam curling home a free-kick - which was given away by Darren Dods, who was sent off for a professional foul on Kris Boyd.
However, Inverness battled on and with just eight minutes left Craig Dargo fired home an equaliser to earn his side an unlikely point.
Aberdeen made sure they took advantage with victory at Kilmarnock.
All the goals at Rugby Park came in the second half with the opener on the hour with James Fowler putting through his own net.
The Dons doubled their lead ten minutes later when Russell Anderson scored and that proved to be enough as Kilmarnock could only salvage a late penalty through Steven Naismith.
The bottom two St Mirren and Dunfermline are now further adrift of the rest after they both lost.
St Mirren went down 2-0 at Falkirk with first half goals from Pedro Moutinho (20) and Stephen O'Donnell (40) securing the win for The Bairns.
The reason the bottom two lost ground was that previously third from bottom Motherwell dispatched Dunfermline 2-0 at Fir Park.
Future Celtic signing Scott McDonald showed he was still committed to the Well cause as he bagged both goals (51 & 62 pen) for Maurice Malpas's side.
