Rangers assistant manager Ally McCoist has won his appeal against his misconduct charge and will not serve a two-match touchline ban.
The former Scotland international, who takes the reins as boss from Walter Smith this summer, was reprimanded for his altercation with Celtic manager Neil Lennon following the final whistle in their Old Firm Scottish Cup clash in March.
Lennon was already serving a four-match ban for a previous indiscretion, and was forced to serve four more as a concurrent suspension.
But Rangers chose to appeal the Scottish Football Association's decision to ban McCoist for two games and have been successful.
McCoist will now be able to take his place in the dugout for Rangers' clash at Aberdeen on Wednesday night.
Alongside his reprieve, Gers received a boost with the news that El-Hadji Diouf and Madjid Bougherra have
escaped further bans, despite being warned and given fines over their conduct during the same match.
"I'm absolutely delighted with it," he said.
"I'm thrilled because I think common sense has prevailed. It's just a bit of justice and 'I'm delighted.
"I looked at the case against me, and we looked at the case we had to put forward, and we felt that using the video evidence as well, it was very, very storng. And thankfully that's the way it has turned out."
On the news that he would not be receiving a ban, McCoist replied: "That's a big relief, there's obviously big games coming up now. So we can put that matter behind us, press on with the campaign and attempting to retain the championship.
