Rotherham manager Andy Scott remains confident that Adam Le Fondre will be at the club next season.

Millers boss expects Taylor and Law to leave League Two club

Rotherham United manager Andy Scott remains confident that goal machine Adam Le Fondre will be at the club next season. The 24-year-old has scored 54 goals in just 100 appearances for the Millers since joining from Rochdale in August 2009. However, with Rotherham still in League Two after missing out on the play-offs last season there has been reported interest from both Barnsley and Scunthorpe. Former Brentford boss Scott expects to see the highly-rated striker in a Rotherham shirt again next season, but predicts key duo Ryan Taylor and Nicky Law to depart.

Right deal

"No one has been in contact with us about Alfie, but Ryan Taylor and Nicky Law look like they will be leaving the club, but only if we get the right deal for us," Scott told skysports.com. "They are two of our best players and are still young lads as well, so we want to be compensated for their departure. "We've had no calls about Alfie though, so he will be back here on the 29th June ready to start pre-season with us." Midfielder Mark Bradley and striker Tom Pope are deemed to be surplus requirements by Scott, but he admitted that they may not leave the club this summer, with limited interest in the duo to date. He added: "We've had a few discussions with various parties about the options that we've got for them, but basically I've told them both that they aren't going to be in my plans for next season in terms of starting. "However, if they remain under contract then they will be used as part of the squad when pre-season begins and as long as they are at the club. "I simply can't guarantee them first-team football, so it is in their best interest to see if there's a better chance of regular football elsewhere really."
