Kenny Miller has insisted he will have no fear about taking a penalty in the Carling Cup final despite his miss in the shoot-out against Crystal Palace.
The semi-final between the Championship sides stood level at 1-1 on aggregate after extra time at the Cardiff City Stadium, and Miller blazed the first spot-kick over to give Palace hope of reaching Wembley.
However, Cardiff goalkeeper Tom Heaton saved low down from Jermaine Easter and Sean Scannell, before Jonathan Parr failed to find the target to send the Welsh club through to the final, where they will face Liverpool.
Miller admits his penalty was 'rubbish', but says he would still happily volunteer to take one if the 26th February showpiece goes the distance.
"If we end up in another penalty shoot-out then yes, of course I will want to take one. I'm still disappointed at the one I missed against Palace," he said in the
Daily Star.
"To not even hit the target is rubbish, to be honest with you.
"You go up and pick your spot and try to hit it there. It was meant to be hard and high, because it's difficult for the keeper to get it there. That was the intention but it was a wee bit too high!
"If at Wembley we take it to penalties then I will still go up and try to pick my spot again and put it there, there's no fear about that."
Great occasion
Miller accepts that Liverpool will start as favourites at Wembley but he is looking forward to the game and feels Cardiff are capable of springing a surprise.
"It will be a great occasion for us," said the Scot. "First of all it is a great achievement to get there, but on any given day anything can happen and we have enough good players to trouble any team.
"Obviously we will be big underdogs but on any given day you can ride your luck, the keeper has a good day, you can take your chances.
"I've never played at Wembley. I've never even been there to watch a game. So when it comes I'm going to enjoy the occasion and aim to get the right result."
While he is desperate to win the Carling Cup, Miller also recognises that Cardiff's main aim this season is to finally earn promotion to the Premier League.
He said: "To have reached a major final is a great achievement, but I think we all know where our focus has to be and that is on the Championship."
