The Canadian-born winger had not started a game this season until Monday's 3-0 win against Arbroath, which was Rangers' 17th consecutive victory.
The 18-year-old made 21 appearances for the club last season as they won the Third Division title but has struggled to force his way back into Ally McCoist's starting XI this season.
Speaking about his involvement, Aird said in the Daily Record: "Last year I got my chance and the boss showed confidence in me and he's given me my chance on Monday, so I just need to get my head down and keep training hard."
Aird also insisted that he would rather bide his time at Ibrox than go out on loan in January if the opportunity arose.
He added: "This is the best club in Scotland for me. The training ground, coaching staff and players are brilliant so there isn't a better place in Scotland or the UK to learn my trade.
"For us young boys who got an opportunity last year it was brilliant and we did well in the Third Division but we need to do it again this year. We need to keep working hard because he brought in these boys who have played at the top level."
