Aberdeen failed to dial up the pressure on Rangers ahead of Sunday's Old Firm derby after being held to a goalless draw against Partick Thistle.

Derek McInnes' side would have closed the gap on second-placed Rangers - until Sunday at least - to three points with victory but on a blustery, wet afternoon at Firhill, neither team could make the breakthrough.

Aberdeen's winless run stretches to four games but the point takes second-bottom Partick four points clear of basement side Ross County.

Two late goals were not enough for Ross County as new co-managers Steven Ferguson and Stuart Kettlewell saw their side beaten 3-2 at Kilmarnock.

Billy McKay and Alex Schalk scored in the last five minutes but earlier goals from Lee Erwin, Kris Boyd and Eamonn Brophy secured three more points at home for Kilmarnock. Steve Clarke's side are now nine games unbeaten.

St Johnstone savoured an emphatic Tayside derby win as they ran riot to beat Dundee 4-0 at Dens Park.

Tommy Wright's men took apart Neil McCann's Dundee, who sank to 10th in the table.
