Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood has no qualms in waiting for Steven Hammell.
Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood insists he has no qualms in waiting for Motherwell defender Steven Hammell to decide upon his future.
Hammell's contract at Fir Park will shortly expire and Motherwell wanted the 24-year-old to stay with his only club.
But the full back is keen for a new challenge and has received offers from clubs in England, as well as Aberdeen.
Though Sheffield Wednesday denied an interest in Hammell, East Midlands duo Derby County and Coventry City have been linked with an offer.
He is still musing over his options, but the delay in making a decision is not causing Calderwood any consternation.
The Dons chief is happy for Hammell to take his time and remains convinced the left back will choose to move to Pittodrie.
"My personal feeling is that Steven doesn't want to go to England and when I spoke to him in February I thought he wanted to come to Aberdeen," said Calderwood.
"To be honest, I felt he would have been here by now, but he still hasn't made up his mind and we just have to wait for him.
"I have never set a date and I don't mind waiting for Steven to make up his mind."
