Third Division side Queen's Park stunned Aberdeen in the second round.
Third Division side Queen's Park stunned Aberdeen with a penalty shoot-out victory in the second round of the CIS Insurance Cup.
Aberdeen failed to break down Queen's Park in 120 minutes of football and went on to lose 5-3 in the shoot-out.
Aside from that, there were no other shocks, although Dundee United needed a 118th minute goal from David Robertson to see off Airdrie United.
Hibernian romped to a 4-0 victory at home to Peterhead, with an own goal from Iain Good on seven minutes setting the ball rolling.
Abdessalam Benjelloun scored before half time, while Scott Brown (pictured) and Jamie McCluskey were on target in the second period.
Motherwell required an 88th minute goal from Steve McGarry to kill off Partick Thistle's fightback at Fir Park.
Richie Foran scored twice in the opening 16 minutes for Well, but Partick levelled through James Gibson and Mark Roberts.
Kilmarnock needed extra time to overcome Queen of the South, with Steven Naismith's 113rd minute goal proving decisive.
Sean O'Connor had put the hosts ahead, but Grant Murray's 75th minute goal ensured there was no upset.
Billy Mehmet scored twice in St Mirren's 3-1 win at home to Stenhousemuir, with John Sutton also on the scoresheet.
Falkirk crushed Cowdenbeath 5-0 away from home, with Liam Craig, Pedro Moutinho (2), Mark Twaddle and Mark Stewart scoring.
Dunfermline Athletic squeezed past Ayr United 7-6 on penalties after a 0-0 draw.
Alloa beat Ross County 2-1, despite playing most of the game with 10 men, while Livingston comfortably beat Brechin City 3-0.
After a stalemate in 90 minutes, St Johnstone scored four times in extra time to thump Elgin City at home.
