Malpas wants striker to stay until summer

Inverness assistant manager Maurice Malpas has called on Adam Rooney to stay at the club at least until the summer. Rooney is out of contract at the end of the season, leaving him free to talk to other clubs and he has turned down Inverness' offer of a new deal. Russian outfit Kuban Krasnodar have had a bid rejected for the Irishman, while a number of English sides are thought to be monitoring Rooney. Malpas hopes Rooney will stay at Inverness and has pleaded with him to wait until the end of the season before making a decision on his future. "He's been offered a contract and it's his prerogative to say no. There's no problem with that," Malpas told the Daily Record. "But we're desperate for him to stay and are trying to convince him to stay here until the summer and then make his decision whatever that may be."
