Hearts boss Robbie Neilson has been given a suspended two-match ban for criticising referee Willie Collum in August.

Neilson contested a Scottish Football Association charge over his comments, which followed a defeat at Hamilton on August 29.

But a judiciary panel has upheld the charge, and Neilson's ban will kick in if there is a repeat offence before the end of the season.

Hearts had Calum Paterson sent off in the game at Hamilton and went on to lose 3-2, prompting their head coach to say: "I could say a lot of things about [the referee] but I don't want to say too much because I'll end up in the stand and I don't want to do that.

"We looked at the stats during the week. When we get a referee, we look at what the stats are and what way they referee the game.

"This game, with the officials we were getting, we knew there was a high probability of a man being sent off and it's happened again."
