The former Leeds United man was given his marching orders following a tackle on Livingston`s David Fernandez that referee Dougie McDonald deemed serious foul play.
At the time, an incensed Livi boss Jim Leishman charged up the touchline to confront Maybury (pictured), but video replays appeared to show that the Republic of Ireland defender played the ball.
The Jambos lodged an immediate appeal, but the SFA disciplinary panel have decided to uphold the initial decision, meaning he will miss the SPL clash with Celtic on Wednesday.
After the ruling, an unhappy Levein said: "It is extremely unfair. That challenge was not worthy of a red card.
"I think we lost three points because of the incident and now we are being punished again by losing Alan, one of our most consistent performers."
