Liverpool defender Danny Wilson is hoping manager Kenny Dalglish gives him the chance to impress in Wednesday night's Carling Cup trip to Brighton.
The 19-year-old has made just one appearance for the Reds so far this season, in the last round of the tournament against Exeter City.
Wilson is determined to make the most of the opportunity if Dalglish hands him a run out against Gus Poyet's Championship high-flyers at the Amex Stadium.
"Hopefully the manager decides to play me again and I'll look to take the chance that comes along," he told the
Liverpool Echo.
"If you're not getting a run of games and are only given one opportunity then you need to make sure you take it.
"Brighton have just come up from League One and are going well in the Championship. It will be a tricky game but we just need to focus on ourselves. If we apply ourselves in the right way we are a match for any team."

Scotland international Wilson arrived on Merseyside from Rangers in the summer of 2010 in a reported £2million deal.
The teenager has been limited to just nine outings for the Reds so far but insists there is nowhere he would rather be.
"I'm delighted to be here and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else," he added.
"I feel like I've improved as a player but I haven't played enough games. I haven't got control over that.
"I can only try my hardest. The more games I get the happier I'll be with my progress.
"It's difficult for me with all these top players ahead of me but I wouldn't have come here if I didn't think I was up to the challenge. I'm only 19 and I've still got time on my side."
