MacDonald was knocked unconscious after a collision with Celtic defender Charlie Mulgrew as they pair challenged for an Emilio Izaguirre cross early in the match.
Substitute stopper Peter Enckelman replaced MacDonald between the posts and a groggy Mulgrew was taken off shortly after that by Celtic boss Neil Lennon.
McGlynn said: "At half-time he was sitting up no problem. The doctor said he took 20 minutes to come round, but he checked him again and checked his eyes and he was okay.
"I'm sure he'll be observed for the rest of the night, but he is fine."
The Hearts manager reckons his team were worthy of a point from the game, and Andy Driver almost delivered that with virtually the final kick of the afternoon.
"We had a great opportunity right at the death to get a point and I think we maybe deserved that," added McGlynn.
