Teemu Pukki scored on his debut as Celtic piled more misery on bottom-of-the-table Hearts with a 3-1 victory at Tynecastle.
Kris Commons and Anthony Stokes were also on target for the Scottish champions, with Jason Holt netting for the hosts.
The Hoops went ahead on 19 minutes when Jamie Hamill was controversially penalised for handling the ball and Commons fired home from the spot.
Holt levelled matters 11 minutes into the second half with a shot from the edge of the box that required a deflection.
Stokes restored Celtic's advantage with a cracking 12-yard volley in the 65th minute, before substitute Pukki sealed the three points five minutes from time.
After Celtic keeper Fraser Forster had made a good early save to keep out a Kevin McHattie free-kick, the visitors went ahead from the spot when referee Willie Collum penalised Hamill who was challenging for the ball with Stokes.
Stokes almost added a second on 27 but was adjudged to have been offside when he found the back of the net following a Commons cross.
Yet Hearts were level against the run of play on 56 when the Celtic defence could only clear the ball as far as Holt whose deflected strike left keeper Forster flat-footed.
Samaras turned a Stokes cross over the bar from close range, when he should have scored, but the latter made no mistake to fire home Celtic's second.
The confident Irishman made no mistake after running on to Commons's headed assist.
As Celtic continued to dominate, Jamie MacDonald saved well from Emilio Izaguirre before Samaras missed another good opportunity on 72.
But five minutes from time Pukki headed the third after good work by Stokes.
The result leaves Hearts on minus eight points, following their 15-point penalty for going into administration, as Celtic enjoyed a comfortable victory in what was already their 11th competitive match of the campaign.
