Inverness crept into the top half of the Premiership table after a 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock, while Chris Burke's stoppage-time strike for Ross County in Glasgow denied Partick Thistle their first win in nine attempts.

Kilmarnock, who were looking to claim back-to-back away wins for the first time since December 2013, went ahead in the Highland capital when Souleymane Coulibaly (7) was fouled by Brad McKay, and the Killie striker duly found the bottom corner from 12 yards.

Lonsana Doumbouya threatened for the home side but Jamie MacDonald saved comfortably while Liam Polworth opted to pass when shooting looked the more favourable option.

Doumbouya passed up a decent chance for an equaliser, getting his close-range header horribly wrong but the Frenchman was to atone (86) when he poked home a Carl Tremarco cross.

Substitute Kris Boyd had earlier hit the crossbar and Ryan McKenzie also struck the outside of the goalframe for the visitors before the whistle.

At Firhill, Thistle forged ahead when Kris Doolan was bundled over by Ryan Dow and Don Robertson pointed to the spot; Sean Walsh (24) confidently beat Scott Fox from 12 yards.

County, without a win for two months, struggled to muster a response but they were inches away from a leveller when Craig Curran's effort hit the post.

Thistle lost Liam Lindsay with a head injury and in the fifth minute of stoppage time substitute Burke worked some space to tuck home his first goal for the club to secure a point. There was still time for Dow to almost nick it for County but Ryan Scully's sturdy right boot saved the day.
