Kilmarnock boss Lee Clark is uncertain whether he will be given any of the money from Souleymane Coulibaly's transfer to invest in new players.

The 22-year-old Ivorian striker, who arrived on a free transfer last summer, has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Egyptian champions Al Ahly.

The move is understood to be worth about £750,000, potentially rising towards seven figures but Clark, who has had to rely on loan deals and free transfers in the past, is not sure if he will be given money to spend before the end of the month.

He said: "He's a good lad and he will do well out of it financially and professionally and I wish him luck.

"Our club got the best deal that it could, a fantastic deal really, for a player who has only been here six months.

"I will be sitting down with the board and giving my thoughts and opinions and seeing where we go forward.

"I have a list of players for each eventuality, whether I am allowed to go into the transfer-fee market or whether we go on free transfers and loans.

"It all depends on how the board sees the money being used, for the infrastructure of the club, for youth development, infrastructure, sports science, medical or the playing side."

One potential replacement for Coulibaly is trialist Hakeem Araba, a 25-year-old striker whose contract with Swedish side Falkenbergs FF ran out in November.

Clark said: "He trained with us on Monday and played last night [Tuesday] and took his goal well in the win for the U20s against Hearts.

"His season in Sweden finished in mid-November so he has not played football since then. We have to decide how long it is going to take to get him up to speed. We will decide in the next day or two."
