Conor Sammon has moved back to Kilmarnock from Hearts until the end of the season, while Scott Boyd's move to Rugby Park from Ross County has been made permanent.

The 30-year-old Boyd had been on loan in Ayrshire since August but has now joined Lee Clark's side on a permanent basis.

A County statement read: "We can confirm today that defender Scott Boyd has been released from his contract here in Dingwall.

"Scott has been a great servant to the club since joining in 2008 and we would like to take this opportunity to thank Scott for his contribution and wish him well in the next stage of his career."

Sammon had fallen out of favour under Ian Cathro's regime at Tynecastle having moved to Gorgie from Derby County last summer; his last seven appearances all came from off the bench.

He had made his name in three seasons at Rugby Park before heading south to Wigan six years ago.
