The former Raith Rovers man has been released as part of the club's restructuring plans for next season.
Dargo moved to Rugby Park in 2000, although his impact has been restricted due to a string of injuries.
Kilmarnock also released 19-year-old stopper Neil McGregor, and boss Jim Jeffries offered the duo his best wishes as they left the SPL outfit.
"It's always a difficult time of the year when you have to advise players that they are no longer part of your plans," Jeffries told the club's official website.
"But both players leave with our best wishes and appreciation of their commitment during their time at Kilmarnock.
