Sammy Clingan will miss Northern Ireland's crucial World Cup qualifier against the Czech Republic next Wednesday with a broken toe.
The 25-year-old Coventry midfielder was forced to leave the Ricoh Arena on crutches after sustaining the injury during Saturday's match against Leicester, having grabbed the opening goal in the 1-1 draw.
An X-ray has confirmed Clingan faces six weeks on the sidelines, meaning the Sky Blues' summer signing could be absent from their next five league games before returning to action in November.
Chris Coleman's side are one of the chasing pack for a play-off spot in the Championship, currently sitting 11th in the table.
