Dylan McGeouch has been forced to pull out of the Scotland squad after suffering a groin injury, the Scottish Football Association has announced.

The uncapped Hibernian midfielder joined up with the squad on Monday and took part in a fitness session in an attempt to prove himself fit ahead of this week's friendlies, having suffered the injury in training last week.

Speaking before the SFA announced his withdrawal from the squad on Twitter, coach James McFadden said: "He did a bit with the fitness coach this morning. He is still feeling his groin a bit so we will see how he goes.

"I know he has had problems before so we will manage him and if he is not 100 per cent, he won't be risked.

"Dylan McGeouch deserves to be here so it is not a case of it being his last chance. There will be other chances for him."
