Dundee United will reward teenage defender Garry Kenneth with an improved contract.Dundee United will reward teenage defender Garry Kenneth with an improved contract, while dismissing a move to Hibernian for David McCracken.
Kenneth broke into the United team in February and performed admirably as the club retained their SPL status.
Though he endured a forgettable Scottish Cup final against Celtic, Kenneth's overall displays have encouraged new manager Gordon Chisholm.
The 17-year-old is currently on a three-year contract and, while that can not be extended, Chisholm wants to reward the stopper.
"We've tied Garry up as far as we can so we can't give him an extension," said Chisholm.
"But we could take another look at his contract and reward him that way."
Chisholm also ruled out the possibility of fellow defender McCracken leaving the club in a swap deal with Hibs midfielder Stephen Glass.
He added: "I will speak with David's agent on Thursday about a new deal and I've had no contact from Hibs."
The Terrors chief has also distanced himself from talk of a swoop for Brent Sancho after the defender was released by city rivals Dundee, following their relegation.
