Hibs' Kevin Thomson is hoping to emulate some of Europe's finest captains.
Kevin Thomson is hoping to emulate some of Europe's finest captains by getting the most out of his Hibernian team-mates.
Aged just 21 the midfielder is the youngest skipper in The SPL, but he will not let his new role change his character.
Thomson believes the likes of Roy Keane and Steven Gerrard are superb at getting the best out of their colleagues and he is hoping he can have a similar impact.
"You look at all the skippers around the world, not just at Hibs, all the top players," he told the Daily Record.
"Some of the finest performers are captains for their nation and the best clubs in Europe.
"You look at them and follow in their footsteps and try to get the maximum out of the boys the way Roy Keane did and Steve Gerrard does at Liverpool. He pushes the team on and, fingers crossed, I can copy his style.
"I am not going to become one of those players that, because they have the armband, start shouting at people.
"I am going to do to things I was doing last year with just that bit more responsibility."
