Falkirk beat Morton; Dunfermline leave it late for win

Kyle Miller's early goal earned Cowdenbeath a 1-0 win over struggling Hamilton Academical at Central Park. The Accies remain winless early in the Division One season and were behind for all but 12 minutes against the Blue Brazil. Miller volleyed home Scott Linton's 12th-minute corner for his first goal of the season. Falkirk claimed a 2-1 success at Greenock Morton, their first SFL win of the season, with Lyle Taylor's wonder strike winning the day. Jay Fulton opened the scoring in fortuitous fashion when his left-wing crossed missed both attackers and defenders and bounced past Derek Gaston in the home goal. Stephen Stirling was the architect of Morton's equaliser, as his astute pass picked out Archie Campbell who slotted home in style. But parity was only restored for eight minutes as Taylor let fly from 30 yards and the ball arrowed into the top corner for his second of the season.

Late win

Dunfermline left it late to claim the points at Airdrie with a 2-1 victory condemning the hosts to their first defeat of the season. Airdrie had taken the lead through John Boyle's close-range header after Nathan Blockley had provided the assist. Andy Dowie levelled the game in the 80th minute, meeting Joe Cardle's inswinging corner with a sweet far-post finish, then the visitors sealed the points on 86 as Stephen Husband met Ryan Wallace's right-wing cross with a powerful header. Partick Thistle claimed a 3-0 home win over Dumbarton, with Kris Doohlan, Chris Erskene and Stuart Bannigan on the scoresheet. Neither Raith Rovers or Livingston could break the deadlock in their encounter as it ended in a goalless draw.
