Dundee United suffered late heartache as they bowed out of the Uefa Cup.Dundee United suffered late heartache as they bowed out of Uefa Cup qualifying on away goals.
After holding MyPa to a 0-0 draw in Finland Dundee appeared to be in a commanding position following goals from Mark Kerr and Collin Samuel, but a brace from Adriano in the second half ended the Taysiders' European adventure.
Kerr had given United a fine start when a half-cleared free-kick fell to the former Falkirk man outside the area, allowing him to volley home superbly.
With 27 minutes gone the Scottish side extended their lead when a Barry Robson cross was nodded on by Jim McIntyre and Samuel smashed home from close range.
However, a penalty gave MyPa the impetus they needed, with Adriano grabbing his first from the spot.
With 81 minutes gone, Adriano scored a second and left Dundee United's hopes of progressing into the Uefa Cup proper in tatters.
