Craig Brewster has vowed to carry on next season despite fracturing his ankle.
Dundee United player-boss Craig Brewster has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after fracturing the tibia in his ankle but has vowed to carry on next term.
The 39-year-old striker suffered the fracture against Aberdeen two weeks ago, with scans having now revealed the full extent of the injury.
Despite his advanced years, at least in playing terms, Brewster has no intention of hanging up his boots and on the contrary is already looking forward to next season.
''I kind of knew what was the matter,'' said Brewster.
''I've got another five weeks in plaster and then it will be just a case of trying to get back.
''Hopefully I'll be back for pre-season. I must admit I still miss training a lot but I'm still able to do certain things.
''As for next season all I can say is I'll be training as usual and giving it my best shot.
''I've always said wherever I've been that if I can make a contribution I would look to keep going on.''
