Dundee United have confirmed the imminent signing of Christian Kalvenes.
Dundee United have confirmed the imminent signing of Christian Kalvenes and are also considering the capture of Dundee defender Lee Wilkie.
Norwegian full back Kalvenes has been training at Tannadice in pre-season and has now clinched a move from Brann Bergen.
Kalvenes passed a medical on Tuesday and is due to complete the move on Wednesday, much to the delight of Terrors boss Craig Brewster.
"Christian is delighted to be joining us after his recent short trial period," Brewster told the club's official website.
"He is not only highly recommended, but also looked very comfortable in the game against Dundee and coped very well in training and practice during his trial.
"He is good going forward and, more importantly, is a good left-sided defender. He will add depth and experience to the squad."
Meanwhile, Brewster has handed Wilkie (pictured) the chance to swap clubs on Tayside after inviting the defender for a month-long trial at Tannadice.
Wilkie is negotiating a pay-off from Dundee and Brewster is hoping the stopper can rediscover his old sparkle.
He added: "A fit Lee Wilkie is a decent player. He showed that by getting into the Scotland squad and was linked with a move to Leicester.
"First and foremost anything would depend on his fitness.
"It's been highlighted that Lee and Dundee are trying to come to an agreement, so we'll see what happens after that."
