Barry Robson has signed a long-term new deal at Dundee United.
Dundee United have received a fillip with the news that captain Barry Robson has signed a long-term new deal.
The midfielder had just under 18 months to run on his previous deal, but the club felt he merited a new contract.
Terms were wrapped up just as the transfer window slammed shut and he is now committed to The Terrors until the summer of 2011.
United chief Craig Levein made no secret of regard in which he holds Robson.
"I am absolutely delighted to have secured the services of our captain and most influential player, Barry Robson, on a long term deal," Levein told the club's website. "I believe that Barry is already one of the best midfield players in Scotland and can become better still."
The Terrors released two players on Wednesday, with Alan Archibald and David Gray having their contracts cancelled by mutual consent.
