Defender pens one-year contract

Defender David Raven has put pen-to-paper on a new one-year contract with Carlisle. The 24-year-old was offered the deal at the end of last season as his existing agreement had been set to expire. He verbally agreed to the terms and everything has now been finalised, with manager Greg Abbott thrilled to keep one of his key performers. "As I said last week, I am delighted that David will be with us again next season," Abbott told the club's official website. "He is a solid player with a good reading of the game and it gives us good strength in that position." Raven moved to Brunton Park in the summer of 2006 and has since made over 125 appearances for the club.
