Motherwell have completed the signing of midfielder Craig Tanner on a two-year deal from Reading.

The 22-year-old only made five appearances for the Royals but has played nearly 100 times on loan for AFC Wimbledon and in two spells with Plymouth Argyle.

Tanner becomes the third summer signing for Steelmen boss Stephen Robinson after deals last week saw striker Alex Fisher and midfielder Gael Bigirimana arrive at Fir Park.

Tanner said: "I'm delighted to have joined, having good talks about the club with Stephen and Martin Foyle. It's a good day for me.

"I have a really positive feeling about the club and feel they are really building for the future."

Robinson added: "Craig is a good signing for us and gives us something different again.
