Defender happy to sign new two-year contract

Simon Ramsden is determined to repay Bradford City manager Peter Taylor's faith after signing a new two-year contract. The right-back was a regular in the Bradford team last season after his arrival from Rochdale and agreed a contract extension back in May. He has now put pen-to-paper following his return from holiday and is looking forward to the competition for places in Taylor's squad next term. "Having two-year deals gives the lads a lot of optimism," Ramsden told the Telegraph & Argus. "It shows the gaffer has got his faith in you and you want to repay that by being successful. "There's competition for places all over the team now and the gaffer is still looking to add another couple. "There are pretty much two lads for every position and hopefully that will bring out the best in everyone. "There were quite a few new lads coming in last year, myself included, and it takes time to gel. We won't have that this time."
