Defender facing six weeks out

Dundee United have suffered a blow with the news that Garry Kenneth faces a spell on the sidelines with a groin injury. Kenneth sustained the problem during Tuesday's 3-1 friendly win over city rivals Dundee at Tannadice and he is expected to be ruled out for up to six weeks. Kenneth's injury leaves United boss Craig Levein short of options in defence with Lee Wilkie already ruled out until January "Garry has hurt his groin so could be out for about six weeks," said Levein. "It's a blow with Wilkie also being injured but these things happen." Better news on the injury front for Levein is the long-awaited return of Keith Watson.

Welcome return

Watson has been out of action for almost three years with a series of knee problems, but he made his comeback against Dundee. The 19-year-old was delighted to be back playing after such a long spell out. "It was brilliant to play again especially in a game with an atmosphere like that," said Watson. "I wasn't nervous or anything. I feel like a footballer again."
