Danny Lennon disappointed St Mirren didn't win at Pittodrie

St Mirren boss Danny Lennon felt his side could have come away from Aberdeen with a little more than a 0-0 draw.

Neither side created a host of chances on a less than helpful Pittodrie pitch and Lennon's men failed to take advantage of Aberdeen having Mark Reynolds sent off for a second bookable offence.

"It's always a very difficult venue to come to, and to pick up a valued point," Lennon said.

"We had to fight for the point, and we're disappointed in terms of our opportunities that we didn't snatch all three points.

"I thought the pitch probably won in terms of entertainment today. I think it would have suited two men who played back in the seventies, Tam Craigan and Craig Brown himself!

Lennon admitted that when Reynolds was dismissed, his second booking for handball from a Kenny McLean shot, he initially thought his side had been awarded a penalty.

He added "I didn't see the yellow card go up, so when I saw the red, I thought we had a penalty! I couldn't tell you if it was deliberate or not, but the referee got most of the decisions spot-on today."
