Keeper signs on for Pars

Dorus de Vries has agreed a one-year deal with Dunfermline Athletic.

Goalkeeper Dorus de Vries has agreed a one-year deal with Dunfermline Athletic.

The 25-year-old spent last week on trial with The Pars after being told by ADO Den Haag that he was surplus to requirements in Holland.

He impressed boss Jim Leishman sufficiently enough to be offered terms, and has wasted little time in putting pen-to-paper.

De Vries will be hoping to make his Scottish Premier League debut against Hearts on July 29 and go on to establish himself as number one.

Leishman has been casting his eye over a clutch of trialists this summer and will be delighted to land the former Dutch Under-21 international.
