Nurnberg have confirmed an interest in signing Jan Koller, although the Monaco striker's agent says there is interest from England.
Koller is out of contract at the end of the season and is weighing up a move as he enters the twilight of his career.
He has been linked with a January switch to Nurnberg, and the Bundesliga club concede it would be hard to spurn the opportunity to sign the Czech forward.
"If you are given a chance like this, then you'd be crazy not to make the most of it," Nurnberg sporting director Martin Bader told Kicker.
The 34-year-old's agent Pavel Paska has confirmed talks have taken place with Nurnberg, although England remains another option.
Paska told Sport: "We are in discussions with Nurnberg, but not only with them.
"It depends on Monaco where Honza (Koller) still has six months left on his contract. If they let Honza go, then he can move to Nurnberg, as has already been revealed by the media, but also somewhere else, there are other options.
"It is possible, though, that Honza Koller will try another league, like the English one."
However, Monaco's sporting director Marc Keller claims the French side have yet to receive a firm offer from any interested club.
Keller said: "Anything is conceivable. But we haven't received any proposition from anyone so far."
